Matthew Perry Beat Up Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Grade School

Matthew Perry Beat Up Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Grade School

In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the former F.R.I.E.N.D.S star revealed that he and a classmate ganged up to beat up the fellow Canadian - out of pure jealousy. Trudeau also spoke to US-Canada relations: "There is no relationship quite like the friendship between Canada and the United States".

"I'm not bragging about this, this is bad", Perry told late-night host Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday.

"That sort of example of everyone coming together and making things happen is, I know, what this story is all about". "I didn't want to beat him up".

Kimmel asked if Trudeau, now 45, had Secret Service following him around, suggesting that if Barron Trump was beat up "You'd be in a stockade right now; you'd be in Russian Federation somewhere".

"I was a couple years ahead of him", Perry said of his time in fifth-grade. "My friend Chris Murray.reminded me that we actually beat up Justin Trudeau". "I was a stupid kid".

When Perry replied no, Kimmel continued: "That would never happen to Barron Trump, you would be in the stockade right now, you would be in Russian Federation somewhere".

Trudeau's dad, Pierre Trudeau, was prime minister at the time, but that had nothing to do with the exchange.

Perry and Trudeau both attended Rockcliffe Park elementary, a public school located in one of Ottawa's wealthiest neighbourhoods and frequented by the children of ambassadors and politicians.

"I think it was instrumental in him going to such great heights and becoming the prime minister", Perry said.

The actor says he tries not to think about the incident and is not in touch with Trudeau.

You may not like Matthew Perry after hearing this story, but don't worry, he doesn't like himself much either for it.
