Officer pushes burning truck away from restaurant

With the flames dangerously close to a Jack In The Box drive-thru window, Womack pushes the truck with his patrol vehicle - screeching tires and all.

When police officer Chris Womack arrived to deal with a Ford pickup truck in flames at a Jack in the Box drive-thru, he calmly drove his cruiser straight up to the vehicle and rammed it away from the building.

Officers responded at 9 p.m. Saturday to the Jack in the Box at 1703 S. Beckley Road. That's was when he chose to use his patrol vehicle to push the truck away.

Dash cam footage from the squad auto showed the officer pull up behind the flaming truck that was dangerously close to the drive-through.

The driver of the pickup, his wife and his daughter were able to escape without any injuries.

"My adrenaline was going a little bit", Womack told Fox. It's unclear what caused the truck to catch fire. I've watched [the video] a couple of times, I'm breathing pretty heavily.

Officer Womack nudged the truck with his patrol auto. "Well, that's because the windows were down and I didn't have the train of thought to roll the windows up during it", Officer Womack explained.
